Orcs Must Die Review

If you enjoy tower defense games, than I would highly recommend that you check out Orcs Must Die. Its an unorthodox twist on the genre and is a thrill to play. I don't think I've ever liked a tower defense game this much. The game play is pretty simple, you're in control of an apprentice battle mage who's master had died defending the magical rifts. You start out slow and the game builds momentum as you gain new traps and goodies. You are allowed to place traps before unleashing the hordes as well as during the invasion. After about three waves of orcs on average you're given another intermission to prepare for more waves. When you complete the game the settings are changed to the most difficult setting and you're allowed to keep all of your unlocked traps and spells. The increased difficult eliminates the intermissions and you have three seconds to prepare after every wave.

Stressful Times
In terms of the story its relatively short and by that I mean there aren't many cut scenes throughout the game but it gives you enough to understand the situation. I loved the quirky humor added to the narration of the story and how the story is told by the battle mage's fallen master. He has no faith in his apprentice and says "we're all doomed". I love how developers are adding sarcastic quirky humor into their games like The Baconator etc. I appreciate a game that tries to be lighthearted and appeal in more ways than one. I also like how the story resolves rather nicely and gives room for a potential sequel.

The game has a cartoon look and it pretty aesthetically appealing. The textures are smooth and the colors are very vivid. Graphic wise, I don't have the most up to date PC, but it was pretty decent for me. On other videos you can see that the graphics are pretty good. Control wise the game ran perfect, I didn't have any difficulty with how the character maneuvered or how the weapons fired. There didn't seem to be any control issues for me except when my system decided to slow down from all the activity on heavier waves, but I only blame that on my computer, not the game itself. The difficulty of the game wasn't so bad, but there were some levels that frustrated me to the point where I had to shut the game off. Its so addicting of a game that I had to go and try again a few hours later.

Personal Favorite Trap (gooey traps to slow orcs)
Let them burn

I highly, highly recommend checking this game out. If you're skeptical and I was too vague with my review check out the free demo on Steam.

Just What Is This All About?

Hey guys,

I've decided that I should start using a blog once again to better get my opinions and thoughts across to anyone willing to read them. I'll mainly use this blog in association with my youtube account and cross promote each. If I decide to do reviews (which I intend on doing as soon as I stop being lazy) I'll post both the video and written reviews on whatever products I choose to review. I plan on talking about a vast number of things that tend to plague my mind as well as products I use. Things such as video games, beauty supplies, and just about anything I could think of that I've begun using or have been pleased with from experience. I hope that if I gain a large audience you will feel free to provide my blog and my youtube channel with plenty of feedback.

I'll try to update this blog frequently.
